What’s in My Makeup Bag

I guess I could say I feel undressed without makeup on so 99.9% of the time I won’t leave the house without it. Even if I’m in a rush, I will always find time to put at least some blusher on just because it makes me feel more alive! So many people have asked what I use so I thought I would share. The majority of the products I use are from MAC and this is simply because I have found products that I like. I have been using MAC since I was about 20 after a holiday in Vegas and ever since I’ve been hooked. Don’t get me wrong I love a bargain as you know so I do try high street products too. I definitely think you can find some pretty good products at a bargain price. I guess it comes down to what works for us as individuals.

So, I have detailed products in order of which I use them;-

Foundation - At the moment I am using two foundations depending on the occasion! Does anyone else do that? The foundation I use for everyday and have done for so many years is MAC Studio Fix in shade NC30. It’s a light to medium beige with golden undertone for light to medium skin. The coverage for me is amazing and doesn’t give that cakey look or feeling.

For a night out or a special day occasion my go to foundation is the Estée Lauder Double Wear in shade 3N1 Ivory Beige. It gives a natural semi-matte coverage and really does have 24-hour staying power!

Contour/Bronzer - For this I use MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in shade Dark Deep which is a rich golden bronze. I much prefer a powder form to contour with rather then cremes or liquids.

For touch ups I then like to use Clinique Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder in Stay Buff.

Blusher - I have probably used the same blusher for about 5 years but when I like something I can’t seem to steer away from it. MAC Powder Blush in DollyMix is my absolute favourite. It’s a little daunting to look at as it’s pure candy pink but once on it’s perfect. I know Primark do a few dupes of the MAC Blush so they may be worth having a look at.

Highlighter - I have had the same highlighter for about 4 years (with this I mean I’ve had the same compact... it’s lasted forever!) and again it’s a MAC! It’s the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Deposit. A nice soft reflective golden-bronze.

I was in New York celebrating my 30th and had some money to spend so thought I would treat myself. I went to the MAC shop in Time Square and literally the counter girl that served me had sold it to me in about 5 seconds flat! She was amazing. Americans have a way of doing that, don’t you think?

I have however recently bought SEVENTEEN Bronzing & Illuminating Pallete in Gold. I have read so many reviews lately that it’s an amazing dupe for the Bobbie Brown Shimmer Brick. I believe it’s being discontinued though so be quick! I managed to bag mine for £1 about two weeks ago on the Boots website. I have just checked the website and there still seems to be stock left!

Eyebrows - I had my eyebrows Microbladed around 2 years ago but I have never been one to over do it on the eyebrows anyway. I seem to be lucky enough to have a natural brow. If however I feel like they are too spacey or not dark enough then I use Maybelline Brow Drama in Medium Brown. It’s a sculpting brow mascara and is part of the Brow Tattoo range. I like it as it’s not to false looking and goes on so easy.

Mascara - I have never used stick on lashes as I am allergic to Latex so they were always a no go. Just good old mascara for me. I’ve tried a few over the years just because I wanted fullness. At the moment I’m settled with the good old Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black. I probably put about 2-3 coats on and that gives me the fullness I want.

Lips - I am forever changing my lipsticks, lipglosses, lip liner and balms so this is why I haven’t pin pointed any at the moment. I am constantly buying new shades and changing from one to another. I recently had lip fillers done and I absolutely love them. I’ve always had a fuller bottom lip so it was more the top that I wanted matching up but I am so happy with them. At the moment I am using the Victoria Sercrests Total Shine Addict in Candy Baby. It’s a high shine with a slight touch of colour.

When I do where lipstick I like to stick to a Nude and my go to is MAC Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy. Over the years I have also tried Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kits, YSL Gloss and Chanel Rouge Coco in Gabrielle.

And that’s it! There’s my makeup survival kit! If you have a questions either comment or drop me a message.
